Is there a config, in QTPlasmaC, to limit the Z axis to slats height and never let the external THC to down de torch below that ?

I mean, If I have enough slats and the plate will not warp downwards.

I guess Mach3 has something related, not sure.

If you have a home/max limit switch, that is easy, just set the min limit in the ini file to half of what you have now, save, open QtPlasmaC, home, jog Z down slowly till it jogs no more, see if it is where you need it, rinse and repeat after adding some more to the min limit.

I understand what you mean. The machine cannot go below min_limit, tha's for sure.
Problem is, with a floating head, min_limit needs to be below slats (otherwise the probe switch would never be tripped).

But been so, my external THC sometimes keeps diving until I get:
"Probe tripped during non-probe move"

I wish that "during a cut" LinuxCNC could ignore THC DOWN commands if the Z height is "min_limit minus float travel"

May be a stupid wish, not sure.

Been staring at this for 10 minutes, i am failing to understand what is going on.
My machines move at least 18CM in Z, some over 30. My personal machine currently can go about 8CM under the op of the slats but i have no issues with it.
Sooooo from start:
-did you try to cut with the THC disabled in QtPlasmaC?
-make a video of the THC while that is going on
OR
-if the Down LED remains on on the THC, lower the voltage till it goes off
-if the Up LED remains on on the THC, raise the voltage till it goes off
ONLY after fixing this you can use the LinuxCNC THC feature.
If the torch is moving down fast at the end of a cut only, lower the THC speed in QtPlasmaC
How is the float switch set up?

Sorry for bringing this up, It would only be considered if my setup was working fine without the THC, which I realized it was not the case.

I had other issues that were in the way.

Could you please delete this topic? Thank you.

Working as it should now. I had to use the "-not" version of the parallel port pin (for Arc-OK, Up and Down), I mean, invert the signal. Noob mistake.
Thanks!
