Please can someone help me make my own 50 : 1 voltage divider. I have a high frequency plasma machine which the Arc voltage is 231 DC. What I need is a diagram. I have resistors, inductors, capacitors.and how to filters to do away with EMI. what I need is to show me how to build it in the diagram.

				Hi,
For the divider, a math example.
www.pinterest.com/pin/496240452672578758/
Then try to bring in a few optical isolated connections on the board like this.
P.s i have blown up my pc parport with hf in the past. But it's a good learning process.

If it is for use with a THCAD10 then the easiest way is just to add a series resistor in each leg.
If you put a 2.4MΩ resistor in each leg it would give you 49:1
Quite a few folk use 1MΩ in each leg giving a 21:1 ratio
You will then need some help from Tommy to establish the correct place to connect it.

Okay, how about using THCAD-5 ?
Because THCAD-10 is out of stock.

Hello, I control my machine with a divider like the one from Grotius, only to obtain the value of the calculated resistances I put resistances in series to avoid air conduction.
Once divided you can test your divider connected to your network from there it has to divide.
Then you have to put an overvoltage protection at the output either with a varistor or a zener diode (I use it) and rectify it with a filter according to the frequency of your plasma cutter.
