The float switch indicator is indeed active in both pictures. When you disconnected the switch if you have the input inverted it will expect to have a closed circuit. You may have to invert the input again, or just disconnect it in Hal.

You CAN use the switch, just invert it in HAL.

Sorry I may have misunderstood your first post.
To invert the input just add -not to the end of the input. Or if you used pncconf you can go back in and just click “invert” next to the input.
