Torch delay / torch height? was created by motal2004
Hello People.
I have two issues first; I have my 4'x4' CNC table using a Primeweld plasma machine along with a machine torch. I used sheetcam for my post-processor. My issue is when I start a cut job my machine starts to run before the torch fires up. quick on my feet i came up with a temporary workaround for me to finish up my job.  I increase the lead-in for my outside cuts, but this still is causing an issue with cutting holes. Can someone point me in the right direction?  I'm sure it's something small that I am missing.
My second issue is torch height. I was running the "CNC preferred shielded consumables" see attached image,  on my table but I not getting as much of a straight cut as you can with plasma cutting. from the machine instructions and linuxcnc, it is telling me to lower my cut heigh, but I can't lower it anymore, physics is preventing that from happing, torch tip hits material I switch to unshielded consumables and raised my cut height as best I can to not hit the material. it cuts almost perfectly, with a couple more minor tweaks I will get there, my question is keep using unshielded, it's not going to hurt anything, is it?
thanks again for your help.

sounds like you are using the wrong post processor.
