Thcad ohmic probe1 was created by paulsao
Hello friends Yesterday I was testing the ohmic detection circuit with thcad and to improve the sensitivity to water I reduced the 24k resistor from the schematics to a 47 ohm one, it worked pretty well but after a while the plasma didn't work anymore so disarm the torch so i saw what i attached in the picture is it a coincidence or do they think it was because of the resistance Thanks for your help.

This fault is quite common in those torches ... it looks like an S45 or copy to me. they are not suitable for working with water. the resistance even if you used a very low value I do not think it is the cause. you can clean it well, remove the charred parts of the insulation, resolder the wire in its place and cover with high voltage epoxy resin. so you also solve the water problem

Thanks for your help. I did solder it and it works again but I'll have to open it again to put the epoxy on.
