Probe Test strange behavior was created by mariusl
Hi
I am running the latest ISO 2.8 release with 7i96 and THCAD. The system is setup for mode 1 and I have a float switch on the torch.
When I push Probe Test the Z axis does not move at all and the countdown begins right away.
Is there any special setup that I need to do to use the float switch as the probe?

The float switch should always work for probing.
Could you post a backup of the config from the Backup button.

These are just quick observations on my phone, I won't get a chance to have a thorough look until tomorrow.
The Axis max velocity and acceleration need to be double the values of the corresponding joints.
Safe height is zero, it should be usually higher than probe height, I am not sure if it could cause this issue though.
Setup speed is very low, depending on scaling it may be too slow for motion to begin.

When you say setup speed do you mean probe speed.
The Z axis is quick at the moment. I did fix the joint settings as suggested.
If you set the safe Z at 0 it will use the maximum height. I did also change that to a bit higher than the probe height.
I made the probe speed 900 units per minute and still no movement

Setup Speed is down the bottom, currently it is 30.

Yes that was the issue. I did not understand the significance of that setting and how it was applied.
It is working very well now thanks man.
