What type of laser to use was created by mariusl
Hi
I want to add a laser to my machine to enable me to line up at odd locations. I have been searching to find something suitable but have not found anything.
What does the plasma Gurus use?

The cheapest laser pointer with cross.
That is the only thing i can find here, and last two came with a single line and a fuzzy mess!

I found some line lasers from a Hobby Shop over here. Small 12mm tube like modules. I am going to put them in a 3D printed housing of sorts and see how it works.

Pretty sure i have the same ones, they do come with "cross" lens, see if they have those, much easier to deal with one.

I threw a dead one (full of water) a while back, now i regret that as i could have used one with funny lenses.
Advice to self, if you ever throw them, keep the lens!

I used something like this www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005497606307.html
As I had 24V on the gantry, I used a small 24v to 5v converter to power it

Hi,
I did not use a cross laser but two Line Lasers, which cost me 4 Euro a Piece from amazon. Mounted them via a 3d Printed part to form a cross which is always perfectly centered no matter which hight the z axis is i found it easier than to align a cross laser module since it is height independent no matter the position of the z axis or material thickness .
