The message are fairly clear. The question is which one do you want to win the argument?

Not sure if its relevant, but with F360, Flatten the part if sheet metal, then add a new sketch on the surface to be cut. No need to add anything to it, then right click on the sketch in the tree and you can save as DXF. Open that in sheetcam

I am in the same boat, I assume because my tools in Sheetcam don't match my tools in QTPlasmaC.
I have read the user guide and I think I understand there are a few options but I am really curious what is current consensus on how to do this because I have to have matching tools in each piece of software.
Is it preferred to maintain them in Sheetcam or QTPlasmaC?
It seems easier to work with them in Sheetcam.

There are some variables you can set in the post processor to change behaviour.
There is a script that takes a Sheetcam tool library and imports it into Plasmac.
If managing tools in Plasmac, all taht it uses from sheetcam is the tool number.
managing the tools in plasmac is more convenient because you can tweak things without having to reprocess the file in sheetcam,

Does the tool selected in QTplasmac take precedent over the selected sheetcam tool?

A tool change in gcode will take precedence.
