Yes, thank you! I should have come back here to report this as solved.
Even after waiting for a few days, upgrading LinuxCNC via the package manager still kept us on QtPlasmaC version ending in 84. Not sure what's up with the buildbot. So I set up a Debian VM here and built a deb from source to install on cutnweld's table. The QtPlasmaC version now ends with 88 and the pause issue is resolved. Thanks again for an awesome plasma control interface.
