Losing some values after PB restart was created by IB_CnC
Small question, after I restart PB I lose the values in the Probe screen and the settings for the Tool setter (like spindle head distance).
How are those retained normally? It didn't happen at first, so must have happened while editing .HAL and .INI.

Tool offsets and WCO do get saved, no issue with those.

you must have recently done an update? the var file as well as the subroutine folder requires updating. ALWAYS check the status page after running an apt update as sometimes when major changes are implemented in probe basic the configuration files will require updating. this is one of those scenarios.

to verify you can install meld (sudo apt install meld) and run a directory comparison to see the files that have changed in the configuration folder and subroutine folder.

once you complete the updates you should be back to normal operation!

The strange thing is I haven't ran an update for quite a long time.
I have been doing a lot of configuration work in HAL and INI files.

I will check with meld, create a backup and perform an update anyway to see if it fixes the problem, thanks!

the user parameters require the var file to have the numbered variable listed in the file, this makes them persistent, if they are not in the file they are volatile which will work if entered in the ui for that instance but not be stored. the ui also has a settings storage method and this can become unsynched if the var file is missing the listed parameter numbers. it is an issue we are trying to resolve but as long as everything is in place it works as expected without issue.

the subroutines contain update parameter subs which are responsible for writing the newly ui entered parameters to the var file. so those need to be in place too!

I would run an apt update to make sure you are on the latest probe basic to ensure your sim config contains the most recent updates

I ran the update but it didn't solve the issue.

Strange thing is, first I was losing all values related to probing and tool setter.
Now my spindle zero is getting saved, but for example the Fast probe FR and Slow Probe FR aren't stored for some reason.

Any ideas?

You are on a very old version, chances are you have the wrong subroutines for the version you are on. Update to the latest stable version to resolve.

Sorry, missed that last year when I installed Probe_Basic, I created a seperate machine folder.

Got it sorted now (after some debugging):

excellent, glad to hear it!

fyi, your jog increments can be set in the ini file to avoid them being stacked on top of each other like that.  the stock increments are typically more than are needed for actual functional use.  I find 3-4 increments plus jog are sufficient for all situations.
