Using on Debian 10 Buster, quits without obvious error was created by JetForMe
After changing my working config to use qtvcp, and running through some trial and error to get the right dependencies installed, and finally finding the install script, and then fixing up a few other things, qtvcp tries to launch but gives up without an obvious error:
This dumb forum wouldn't let me post the output, complaining it had too many links, so I attached it as a file. But the last few lines are:

it's indicating you used a -g geometry option that has a problem - did you use the -g switch ?

In any case, removing that allowed it to get further. I sure did not understand that CRITICAL message to mean that.

That should have worked IIRC - it's been a while since I tested that option.
I'll see if I can improve that error message.

I did fix the -g issue and added code to display a better error message.
