Ok yes now I see the width of the A readout changes with and without the Touchy MDI widget.

The problem is the DRO widget is checking for the joint type and getting bad data.
The touchyMDI widget polls status and then the DRO widget got the right data.
I pushed a fix to 2.8
Master will get the fix when someone merges their conflicts.
