I'm not sure if I'm having the same issue as I can't see what the original errors posted here are, but qtdragon crashes every time I click the probe tab too.

run linuxcnc from a terminal, make it crash then post the terminal output here.

Depending on how you got linuxcnc, the changes might not have made it there yet.

Here you go.  Thanks for looking into it.

From what I can see you are running Bookworm. The last build of linuxcnc in it is back in about November. QTdragon/Versaprobe are still very new.
I think that has been fixed in later versions.
Now here is a secret short cut. Go here buildbot2.highlab.com/
Follow your nose via the debs here link until you get to the list of debs.
You should end up here
buildbot2.highlab.com/debian/dists/bookw...uspace/binary-amd64/
 Download the latest linuxcnc-uspace deb.
Currently this one but its an automated build system so it might change
linuxcnc-uspace_2.9.0~pre1.787.g913733ff1_amd64.deb
open a terminal in the downloads folder
1. Uninstall the current Linuxcnc  package
2. Install the deb you downloaded
sudo apt remove linuxcnc-uspace
sudo dpkg -i linuxcnc-dev_(tab)
