How did you manage to replace the firmware? Did you replace the sercos-bus modules in the drives or are there analog inputs in the drives already?

In the weekend I had some more time to experiment but there is no success yet. I read the link about absolute homing for A6 servo again and checked all of the example files. Before I missed to copy this line
Code:
#net x-statusword lcec.0.X.status-word => cia402.0.statusword => joint.0.cia-statusword
Now, LinuxCNC reports missing pins again but there is a new pin that cannot be found - "lcec.0.0.status-word". This is the first line where error appears and LinuxCNC is terminated. The pins "joint.0.request-cia-homing" and "joint.0.start-cia-homing" are reported not found as well.
I am still confused about the guide for A6 servos, which parts need to be uncommented on the first reference run? By the way, my servo drives does not have a settings for choosing incremental or absolute encoders.
Attached are the configuration files.

If you had of followed the link It would have taken you to the exact spot about 16 minutes in where I discuss the networking in that 50 minutes. Its a very old video now but still current.
OK, that is nice, so i am sorry for bantering, i have every security feature enabled here so for me it starts from the beginning.

This is a great idea.

(I'm not in a position to test it any time soon sorry).

My guess is calling it something like VisualHAL might be more intuitive?

I tried the plasma part a bit. Nesting and placing works very well,
really nice. Also made a quick post processor for PlasmaC.
Pretty rudimentary, remove feeds and Z movements and add a few lines in the header.
I'm not going to be part of the development of this software, just wanted to give a quick
micro-review after spending maybe an hour in it. It's nice, modern look, interactive
and I got going without instructions.
I can see myself using it occasionally, for nesting/placing many parts.

Hello everyone, I'm new here.
I have a problem, I got a machine that has linuxcnc and Probe Basic
I tried to translate myself using QT Designer, but I was only able to do it for a few points. When I started translating more, my Probe Basic stopped running.
Maybe someone can tell me which files need to be translated. Because I even edited the .PY file but my Probe Basic still started in English.

P.S. If there is already a link to a forum or discussion, I would be grateful if you could direct me. Thanks

@RodW,
50 minute video for a 3 minute setup, really?
Here is everything in one place and does not take 50 minutes:

the 7i77 needs 5v power supply as well, I think

We are not out of the woods yet. When I pushed this back to my GitHub, it failed some of the gcode tests.
github.com/rodw-au/linuxcnc/actions

I kind of know what's going on. I just need time to get to make some changes. Just need to add stuff to reset functions.

Looks fantastic. Its great seeing more UI options beyond Qt. Just curious, is the display optimized for touch or keyboard input?

Being more of a C/C++ person, I’ve been building a similar pet project focused on a C++ interface layer for LinuxCNC. The idea was to wrap both the NML and HAL polling sides in a clean, multi-client-safe bridge so the same core can support a WebSocket interface for remote clients and a Node.js addon for local UIs. The main goal is to decouple machine access from the frontend layer, making it possible to run multiple displays and control interfaces against a single machine. It's proving to be about as much work as I anticipated ;)

Don't stop this project.

MESA card (LAN) failing to connect. was created by Askjerry
One of my subscribers is having an issue. Unfortunately, I have not yet tried using the LAN-style MESA card, so I am unsure how to help him.

Jere is the message I got:

"Hi Jerry,I have a Mesa 7i92 card that is plugged into the Ethernet on my computer.  It is also connected to a 7i77 daughter card, and I have a 5v power supply going into the 7i92."

Do any of you have some tips that might be helpful?
Thanks,
Jerry

"Great work, Rod! This looks like a monumental step forward for LinuxCNC.

I believe this branch is the perfect strategy for implementation. It elegantly solves the real-time synchronization issues that have hindered advanced tangential control in the past.

For my part, I have an assignment to study this implementation . You have indeed laid a cornerstone for the system, and I am very excited to leverage your work for this project.

If I may add my opinion: I fully support your point of view regarding the modifications of G_1, G_2, G_3 equates in control.c. I understand the devs' concerns about real-time sanctity, but your approach to code readability (housekeeping) is crucial for the long-term maintainability of such complex code. Finding that balance is the key.

Thank you again for your incredible contribution."
