Alle Desktopsymbole verschwunden was created by chrischan
Moin an alle

Was ist hier passiert? Kennt jemand das Problem?
Ich habe Linuxcnc 2.9.2 installiert

Suggest RTAI version for me was created by Allie
Hi,

I have an old computer (pre 2010), 2G ram.  LinuxCNC 2.9.4 runs on it, but I cannot get the jitter down. I have tried a lot of suggestions on this forum (bios settings, deactivating unused hardware etc.). I think the preempt-rt kernel would not work with this computer.

I want to use it for a 4 axis wood router, no fancy peripherals (keyboard and mouse control). What RTAI version of LinuxCNC is lightweight and still has a user friendly interface. I have not tried any of them, I want to ask here first.

Thanks

It would be great to create a complete, fully open, standardized, and comprehensive solution for LinuxCNC, with open schematics, boards, and enclosures.
If I find the resources to complete the main boards, I will make the completed boards and enclosures, along with the ported firmware source code, publicly available.
Suggestions, advice, and criticism are also welcome.

lspci will only probe devices on the pci\pcie bus.
The OP is correct the USB device ids are defined in the header file.
Maybe if the OP raised an issue on the GitHub page he would have direct access to the Devs.
Unfortunately the only thing I can think of is to follow the instructions given in the docs and build Linuxcnc from source as a RIP and see how things go.

Pico Systems has the PPMC, a set of boards to read encoders, drive +-10V velocity servo drives and handle digital I/O. It is fully supported by LinuxCNC. Take a look at: picosystems.store/product-category/analog-servo-interface-ppmc/

You would need :
Mesa 7i96S
Mesa 7i83 for analog out
Mesa 7i85 or 7i85S for encoder feedback
or just a single Mesa 7i97T for everything

Today, after update there is this error preventing start. When this entry is present in the .ini file

Code:
[DISPLAY] VIEW = x thats printed in terminal. If i comment that entry, the ui starts [code]  File "/usr/bin/flexgui", line 313, in <module>     window = flexgui()              ^^^^^^^^^   File "/usr/bin/flexgui", line 229, in __init__     startup.setup_jog(self)   File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/libflexgui/startup.py", line 1167, in setup_jog     if parent.jog_increments:        ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ AttributeError: 'flexgui' object has no attribute 'jog_increments' Shutting down and cleaning up LinuxCNC... A question about the plotter i was going to ask anyway: If a program is loaded, machine zero is in the center of the plot, and i have to search the preview. Is there a way to have the current coordinate system zero, centered in the plot, to see the preview directly. Thanks for all the work done in this project. At the moment i am integrating the subroutines, and it's really nice how to control the index of tabs and stacked widget with a button connected to some python, then load the program with a push button.
[/code]

I've not figured out how to move the plot in code. I don't get that error so I must have fixed it.

Analog controller for servos was created by Nkbhvid
Hi
i am retrofitting a 2002 Homag BOF with Rexroth servo motors and ECOdrive BKC xx.3 040 7 FW.
The setup is originally communicating over Sercos I.
my intention was to use the inbuilt analog +-10v and skip the Sercos. I was planning to use the Mesa7i96 through Ethernet and a daughter card than can run analog communication on the 4 axis.
It seems though that Mesa has more or less abandoned their activities in Europe.
So what are the alternatives to Mesa products?

Help with Wireless Handwheel XHC-WHB04B-6 (wrong Product ID) was created by Gogonfa
Hi everyone,

I’m trying to get my XHC-WHB04B-6 wireless handwheel working with LinuxCNC, but mine shows up as:
Code:
Bus 001 Device 052: ID 10ce:[b]eb91[/b] Silicon Labs

So the Vendor ID (10ce) is fine, but the Product ID is 0xeb91 instead of the usual 0xeb93.
It’s one of those AliExpress clones, originally meant for EdingCNC controllers.

From what I’ve read, the Product ID is defined in the driver source (like usb.h), and you’d need to rebuild it — which I can’t manage.

Has anyone already patched this or found a way to make LinuxCNC recognize it?

Thanks a lot!
Michael

Ok sorted that out. Now how do I know that linuxcnc is running on the last two cpu's, or, how do I force it to run there?

Your config isolates core 2 & 7.

I read a while back about isolating cores that were on the same die....has something to do with cahe and the like. I really wish I could recall that article.

The G-code is not very different and for the most part should work.

The biggest difference is that you should set a path blending tolerance at the start of the g-code in Linuxcnc. This will be a g-code line something like G64 P0.001 Q0.001.

Other differences will be with sub program calls and O-codes and canned cycles. But unless you are doing parametric g-code (unlikely with CAM produced code) it won't matter.

Linuxcnc's G-code is also similar to a lot of Fanuc code, and with similar exceptions as with Mach3.

I'd either go for mesa or riocore, both types will run on a Spartan 6.

Riocore is pretty good in that it has quite a few mesa doesn't support, has also port for a number of different FGPAs. The only issue is that it needs rebuilding of the driver for each time you change to fpga config. RIO also has a Ethernet plugin that uses a w5500, as of yet no plugin for the Ethernet chip used on the Mesa boards.

Mesa is very very mature, one driver is all that is required for changes to fpga if you keep to the standard mesa set of modules. SmartSerial is a big plus as well.

I built a 7c81/7i90 clone using a spartan 6 dev board and some custom PCBs, mesa & riocore firmware both ran fine on it.

Keep up the good work.
