You can download the support zip file from Mesa's webstore:

store.mesanet.com

(in the specification tab for the product)

Hello pcw,
many thanks for your answer. Where i can get this file, I am looking on the Mesa page and in Github?
Hans

If you have a 7I96, it can support up to 4 MPG encoders directly on the isolated inputs
with the right firmware ( 7i96_inmd.bin )

Hello everyone,I am new to LinuxCNC and would like some help with the installation process.I would appreciate guidance on:

• The recommended Linux distribution for the latest version of LinuxCNC.
• The installation steps for a fresh system.
• Any prerequisites or dependencies I should install.
• Common installation issues and how to resolve them.
• Whether there are any official installation guides or tutorials for beginners.

Thank you for your assistance!

Well I’m always up for a challenge!
I reckon I can get this running as reliable as ever.
This was the best solution I could think of, as usb isn’t an option. Then realised, this has the potential of actually being quicker and more reliable than usb.

You're wrong.
You will waste a lot of time (that's also money) and you will reach a wall that you can neither get around nor jump over.
Short time ago I have removed four Remora EC500 from working machines, because this project has no future.
I spent many hours with this hardware and not solving some troubles (stupid 3,3V differential outputs not fitting motor drivers and not working spindle encoder).
I bought four Chinese 7i92, because it was cheaper and better, and now I have many time for other projects...

Yes I believe you are.
PC → Ethernet → Orange Pi → SPI → SKR

Again, read. Through my repo. It explains everything! In depth!

Am I understanding correctly, the Pi in this project exists purely for bridging ethernet udp <-> spi?
I am always interested in new ideas. Sometimes new ideas hatch breakthroughs.

Actually this is cheaper. I already have it running on GRBLHal, and I fancied a challenge.
I have all the hardware, so buying supported/prebuilt hardware, is more expensive…
Plus, this could open up a lot of extra windows and doors!

Nonsense.
This will be not cheaper and not better than chinese 7i92 + cncshield (~60 US dollars on Aliexpress).
I have small table milling machine controlled by ESP32 + W5500 + cncshield (hal2udp project) - it is cheapest solution and work well.

Yeah I am wokring on trying to find a wiring diagram or more details on the wiring and electronic side to be able to do that. Again, I know a guy on here did something similar, but his was a bit different than mine.

This was his post he had:  www.forum.linuxcnc.org/27-driver-boards/...cix-5x10-cnc?start=0 maybe the auther,  randypetersen  could help out?

The idea of starting with and virtual environment is just because i still have no dedicated machine, and to not to loose time learning and testing various GUIs to see how I will be doing the workflow of the production of the pieces , configurations and other stuff which is not really related on
testing servos and other hardware things. This will permit me to get more comfortable with the software.
