Harmonic drive 4th axis build

The plates were not very flat, so facing them with the fly cutter and start the final assembly.

Continue with the final assembly and start by dealing with a stuck tapered pin.

Making surfaces parallel to the harmonic drive.

Working on the top cover.

Finally starting to use it. If you haven't followed this series, the last five minutes may be worthwhile watching anyway.

Yes, worthwhile checking alternatives to build from steel plates, it is a lot of work...

I thought I was ready with the rotary axis, but there was some work needed in Fusion 360 to get the rotary axis well supported. As usual, I made a video about that.



The fixed Fusion 360 post processor for my A axis and inverse time feed mode is attached. For linuxcnc of course. You can see it in action in the video. The G-code runs directly, without any hand-editing or such things.
