Well I had some time today to connect the 7i76e to the stepper drivers, power supply, and stepper motors. So far all is
working well. I had an easy test G-code to run and aside from some unintended weirdness ( most like from things I don't
completely understand yet ) it performed as expected umm in a good way. I will Shoot some video this weekend.
Stay tuned.

Looks like I will have a lot of video to shoot . I hooked up the spindle VFD and after fighting with some settings
the VFD will now work with the 7i76e board . I also got the spindle encoder electricly connected so I can see the
spindle rpm ( when it's physically connected to the spindle ). Now if I could just get the MPG wheels to work . LOL .

The VFD is a TECO L510-101-H1-U
see pages 4-8 through 4-21 of the manual below

the parameters I changed
original TB4 wiring
pin 8 to VFD com.
pin 7 to VFD S1
pin 6 to VFD com.
pin 5 to VFD S2.
modified TB4 wiring
pin 8 to VFD S2 ( forward/reverse )
pin 7 to VFD com.
pin 6 to VFD S1 ( run/stop )
pin 5 to VFD com.
I will do a video later on setting up my VFD

I found the answer to my MPG issue. One I have to have the "machine" homed before the MPG Jog Wheels will move an axis.
the last thing though is in Pncconf. The "External Controls" page I had to change the "Default" setting from 0.0000 to 0.0010
Now it works . Talk about a " cant see the trees through the forest" type scenario.
I later decided to use a selector switch for MPG jog rates Default 0.0000, A=0.0010, and B=0.0001. So now the MPG wheels are
ignored until I select a Jog Rate.

Just be aware that there is a pin halui.mode.teleop that can be used to select (eg enable) the jog mode. If you set this pin when using gmocappy it will change tabs to the jog screen.
My pendant has a yellow safety button that must be pressed to jog. I use that to set this pin cos I was sick of having to walk back to the screen to select the jog screen.
Linuxcnc ignores the MPG when running programs etc.

I will definitely check into that if/when I would switch from Axis to Gmocappy.
