Did a new version of the break out board for a Teensy 4.1, just waiting on a friend to add some I2C functionality to the Arduino-Connector code. I added a 8 high current outputs to this one, for something like a "semaphore", light tree... thing, or whatever else

Hinge / adjustable keyboard looks great to me. Might not be ideal for a workplace setting as exposed pinch points, but for personal use it's a simple and reliable functional design.

The 4x4 button panels -> are they individual buttons that you've put on a PCB yourself, or are they a ready made matrix?

Can you please share the source for the keyboard?

There's no pinch point. Pictures are missing some minor hardware....wasn't expecting OSHA in the thread lol.

Keypad is mine, it's a single 4x8, there's just a little extra space in the middle.

Keyboards like that are sold on AliExpress...just search for "stainless keyboard"

Thanks. Aliexpress search sucks - I tried a bunch of different terms but kept coming up with those cheap soft membrane waterproof keyboards. Stainless keyboard works.

(and they seem to have gone SEO crazy, and now trying to use google with site:aliexpress mostly results in aliexpress pages generated with that search term, not actual product listings).

Did you decide to build a few for sale? If so, have you settled on a price? and if not, would you be willing to sell me a copy of your CAD? This looks great, and I have a machine to finish off.

I did not build extras yet but I have material cut for 4 or 5 more that I wanted to make the enclosures for and get them all powdercoated at once. Hold up has just been the fact that I was not satisfied with the software implementation of Arduino-Connector as I had issues with lag on the inputs that's really not acceptable. So I got sidetracked until I get this sorted.

I went back to the drawing board and made an EtherCAT controller for the IO which I prototyped months ago. Hold up on that is I have someone writing the firmaware for it and it's taking longer than I hoped/expected, hopefully it will be done soon.

It could of course just use something like a Mesa 7i90HD like any other control panel somebody might build.

Time to work on stuff like this gets us all! I really like your foldaway keyboard hinges, and the whole project looks great. I have two machines to finish up, a big '90's Taiwanese bed mill that just needs the control panel built, and a lathe conversion that needs all of the control work done. I plan to use your hinge design, and the same keyboard, thanks!
