ASUS E45M1-M PRO Latency Issues was created by juwi
Hi
I searched this forum and found that the mentioned bord can do servo threads with 5kHz...
I bought it and have now a latency jitter of 27000-38000ns?
I found the C6 and p-step disabling info and did it, also tried isolcpus.
Doesnt work out...
What did I do wrong?
best regards

There is a serial/parallel port PCI card which is not used (no driver loaded), nothing else.
Hard disk is a Kingston SSDNow 120GB SATA, 8GB Ram (4 used)
System runs 5i25 / 7i77
I have disabled all Clockstepping, sleepmodes, NX and stuff in the Bios.
Best regards

with isolcpus the latency is 6000-8000 for the first 3-5 seconds, then it goes up to 30000-40000
Without isolcpus it is >20000 from the beginning.

I get similar results on mine 32,xxx after a few seconds.
Peter are you using the onboard graphics?
I need to put a graphics card in mine that can display 1440 x 900.

Even though I have 30,xxx latency numbers I don't get any real time errors so I wonder about the latency test sometime...

Just a couple of thoughts
If it does try it in another slot
Blurb makes great play of ASUS Fan Xpert which sounds like a recipe for unwanted low level activity.
Can you just turn it all off and have the fan at a fixed speed the whole time?
Try the kernel parameter nohalt with and without isolcpus=1, can reduce latency caused by interrupt idle/sleep
regards
There are no drivers anyway, try removing it so it is not allocated an interrupt and see if it makes any difference. There is a serial/parallel port PCI card which is not used (no driver loaded),
