Actually i just realize that I made a mistake in respect of what I want to do.
The yellow wire should be terminate in a pin above the probe input pin and set hal as a limit switch.
That's what I mean in new drawing.

Can anyone confirm that the final diagram is correct for this tool setter?
I'm under the assumption that a resistor is not needed for the Mesa 7i76E?

The resistor would seem superfluous to me, assuming that you are using a Mesa card with 24V-safe inputs.

I wired the tool setter according to the drawing and it works for me
