Can If you post your hal/ini files?

The error is likely caused by a missing or mismatched

loadrt abs xxxxxx

line

Attached are the requested files.

I have not made any manual changes to either of these files. They are both output from pncconf.

Kind Regards

So at the beginning of the hal file
there is a commented out loadrt for the
abs function and later on an addf line
for that function that fails because
the function was never installed.

I suspect this is a bug in this pncconf
version when certain spindle functions are not
used. It turns out the the abs function
is never used, so simplest fix would be to delete
the addf abs.spindle line in the hal file.

#loadrt abs names=abs.spindle
#loadrt lowpass names=lowpass.spindle

addf hm2_5i25.0.read servo-thread
addf motion-command-handler servo-thread
addf motion-controller servo-thread
addf pid.x.do-pid-calcs servo-thread
addf pid.y.do-pid-calcs servo-thread
addf pid.z.do-pid-calcs servo-thread
addf pid.a.do-pid-calcs servo-thread
addf pid.s.do-pid-calcs servo-thread
addf abs.spindle servo-thread
addf lowpass.spindle servo-thread

addf hm2_5i25.0.write servo-thread
setp hm2_5i25.0.dpll.01.timer-us -50
setp hm2_5i25.0.stepgen.timer-number 1

Edit:

Note that the same issue is there with the lowpass function.

I suspect these were added for some some spindle speed display
function, that was not used, and only 1/2 removed from the hal
file boilerplate

You are correct, Peter. When pncconf generates the configuration HAL file it include two lines that prevent LCNC from launching. A search on the forum identified the culprits and suggested the two lines be commented out. In my zeal to get on with my project, I commented out the wrong lines. Correcting the issue resolved the problems.

Kind Regards -

A question associated with this project to integrate a crosshair laser into my machine.

At present the crosshair laser has been successfully integrated into the gvcp panel. My next effort is to allow the user to select the coordinate system to set to zero given the position marked by the crosshairs on the stock. I've added a HAL_Combo box which I can select the coordinate system, however, while monitoring the s32 pin with show_configuration I do not see any change in the value of the pin when selecting a different value. I would like to reference both the label and value columns of the liststore associate with the selection. Is that possible without resorting to a handler?

I've got most of the gladevcp buttons working on my machine; i.e. I can toggle may laser marker, I can move the table so that the quill moves to the desired X/Y coordinates, and I can set the program zero for the current coordinate system.

However, I'm experiencing a SNAFU. When the laser is on, the machine will not jog. Further, I have to turn the laser off then click some other widget before the machine will jog again.  What might be the cause and the solution?  My implementation requires that I can jog my table until the crosshairs are at the desired X/Y program zero.

These are the HAL commands to toggle the laser:

# *** Crosshair laser Toggle and LED ***
net machine-is-on => gladevcp.crosshair-ctl-active
net crosshair-toggle-out <= gladevcp.crosshair-toggle
net crosshair-toggle-out => gladevcp.crosshair-led

The LED is set to flash when the laser is active as a prompt to turn the laser off after use.

Kind regards;
