To find the parallel port address from a terminal try...
lspci -v

and take a look here...
linuxcnc.org/docs/2.5/html/hal/parallel_port.html

and here...

www.linuxcnc.org/index.php/english/forum...-parallel-port-cards

Hi

The chipset is MCS9900, which is a late NetMOS and will work and does not require any extra driver

Look at the 2nd link Rick gave you for finding the port address

Be aware that if you have a charge pump on your BOB, the stepconf jog may not work anyway, so you need to run the resulting config

First of all thank you for helping me
so now I typed in lspci and hit enter and I got a long list of hardware mostly involving 'nVida' corporation and
Paralell controller: NetMos Technology Device 9900

Hi

Type in lspci -vv > lspci.txt and that will create a file called lspci.txt

Attach that to a post , it is the details of the netMOS 9900 we need so you must use the -vv after lspci to get the right amount of detail
