Setting up a Zenbot was created by steeley
Anyone using a Zenbot? I'm looking for a basic config. to get started.
I haven't manged to find anything on the web as yet, and the manufacturer
hasn't give me any answer to my enquiries.
I'm tempted to fiddle, but I don't want to break anything
TIA

Just fire up stepconf and guess
Configure the limit switches first.

thanks-
no limit switches so need to be careful...
Given it a go with stepconf and everything runs in the right direction- I've gone for slow speeds
to start with. Motion seems fine and smooth.
steppers are 200 steps/rev with 8th microstepping. There is some scaling wrong somewhere
as moving 0.1 inch on any axis moves about 3inches, but I cant see where.

Make sure you have all your settings, hardware and software correct first.
Then
You can just go back to Stepconf and enter the proper numbers to reach the movement you want.
or
Measure the movement you get from a move with the scale you have, calculate what scale would give proper results and
edit the SCALE in you config file to reach the correct movement.
There is a great deal of info on SCALE in the Integrator Manual

Thanks folks- had a fiddle and just needed to set the leadscrew to match the turns per inch of the stepper.
One thing I can't find is how to send the machine back to the zero position?

If you homed your machine at x0 y0 z0.
And then you did a touch off at some other location.
If you enter G53 G0 X0Y0Z0
It will take you back to the homed position.
A good source to read...

You can set up an MDI_COMMAND to go to home on a physical or software button.

I have a bunch of PyVCP buttons which call various fixed subroutines on my CNC lathe.
It's a very useful feature.
