but i think remora also supports W5500 modules (or similar) via SPI !?!?!

Hi Cornholio
Thanks for your offer! I already have WT32-ETH01 however I am new to LinuxCNC. I need to order an encoder, preferably from Aliexpress, trying to understand which one to get!
Your advise will be much appreciated.
I think private messaging is not working at the moment- would love to be in touch in Sydney to learn more.

Hi kzali,
I've sent a message by what I may think is your github handle from a msg you left on the linuxcnc-RIO project.

Just thinking out loud, wouldn't having the ethernet-spi bridge take the a lot of load off the Remora MCU and reduce the MCU code base ? I'd imagine once the WT32-ETH01 was sorted it would be good for SPI on a variety of boards ?
The MCU I presume is pretty agnostic as the source of the SPI signals as long as they are correct ? Would that open up Ethernet connectivity to more remora boards and allow any platform Rpi\Orange Pi\ x86\64 to work as well.
Just thinking out loud.

Maybe a little less code, but I can't say whether it's faster.
and you have to flash 2 boards and the FTP/flexi stuff will not work

It can be made to work most likely, with SPI. I dont know about the ethernet though, or if the GD-407 will work.

The STM32 Remora-EC500 code base would be a very close starting point. The EC500 uses a different version of the F407 so pin assignments would need to be checked.Would Remora work with this ?
