exactly, what should i do to upgrade my linuxcnc ? i don't understand what i have to do..


Assuming your using Debian 9 my instructions for installing different versions of LinuxCNC are here . You will need to open the Synaptic Package Manager from the System > Administration menu and in Settings > Repositories uncheck the current LinuxCNC repos first.

It is very helpful to have it for cases where the arc is lost during a cut or due to plasma overheating, you can just back off a bit and resume cutting.


That makes sense to me, I don't run full out production on my plasma table so I've never experienced a shut down due to over heating.

Forgot to mention power outs, that WAS a daily occurrence here, last 4 to 5 years they rarely occur, but it happens. Just today it went out for over an hour on most parts of the city.

That is using old repositories, they have changed.
They will have to be changed in "sources " list or "software sources" GUI.
There are several threads discusing that here in the forum, just do a quick search.

I have installed Debian 9 and then linuxcnc 2.9 but linuxcnc doesn't recognize all pin of mesa card. I have a 5i25 + 7i76 + 7i85s. I've error when i open my old configuration beacuse linuxcnc doesn't found some pin of mesa. When i tried this command:

sudo dmesg -c {You will be asked for a password}

loadrt hostmot2

show param

terminal didn't show me all pin. before i updated linuxcnc and debian, terminal had shown me all pins.
