Good day.
Can I ask for help?
I have tried several procedures but the HB04 is still not working properly.
After starting my configuration the HB04 works. The axis on the monitor moves but the HB04 LCD does not change.
When HB04 falls asleep and wakes him up with the "Start / Pause" button, it no longer works.
I have the same problem with all configurations.
Do I have something wrong installed?
I have a Linux CNCRouter 4.9.0-12-rt-686-pae # 1 SMP Preempt RT Debian 4.9.210-1 (2020-01-20) i686 GNU / Linux and LinuxCNC 2.9.0.
I have HB04 exactly as in the picture.
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you very much.

Hello, I am using the configuration files that I left in this post without problem, I do not have the capacity to help you, but I am using 2.7.15 the last release. Why are you using 2.9? you should use 2.8 pre-release on your yyxz router. could you tell me why?. thank

Good day.
Thank you for your response.
I do not understand much.
I'm using EtherCAT. When installing LinuxCNC according to the instructions on the Internet, version 2.9.0 was installed. I thought it was ok. Version 2.9.0 is bad?
Can the HB04 be defective?
When I turn on the HB04 and turn the switch to all positions X, Y, Z, A, Spindle, Feed, nothing on the LCD will change.
It's OK?
When the switch is in the Spindle position and only then turn the HB04 on, the LCD will display "F 0.000 / S 0.000". But when switching to "X", nothing changes on the LCD display. It is also ok?
Thank you very much and have a nice day.
Jirka

hello, it is not about good or bad, the current version of linuxcnc is 2.7.15. the others have not been released yet but the developers allow the installation for testing.
I understand that pre-release version 2.8 is the next one to come out, and this version allows your xyyz configuration.
Have you not thought that perhaps your xhb04 device is damaged?

I thought 2.9.0 was the official release.
Is it possible to downgrade from 2.9.0 to 2.8.0?
Yes. I thought the HB04 was damaged. The video on youtube switches from "X" to "Spindle" and the LCD display changes. For my HB04, the LCD does not change.
It may be damaged or is poorly loaded with Linux?

I have done a test with mine.
If the device loses the connection, the screen turns off and although it is turned on nothing works, you have to restart everything.
I would think to check if your ethercat configuration is not bothering hxb04.
Why don't you do a basic configuration with the simulator, and load the xb04 to see if your device really works. you can use my files directly.

I tested the basic configuration "xhc-hb04-layout2_mm" 14 days ago. And it still reacts the same way. I've been bothering about it ever since.
