I know its missing an example.
Can you be more specific about what you need to know?
You need to know the serial port address and serial port speed (that the slave is expecting)
Do you know Classic ladder very well?
What are you trying to connect to?
I haven't played with modbus for a while now so don't remember everything off the top of my head.

For Steva ... I think that for first you have to read very well the Integrator manual related to ClassicLadder and the use of the built in Modbus functionalities.
Also in the wiki you can find some useful informations about your questions.
In addition you have also to know how Modbus communication work if you want to gain the result.
Right now I'm in Kuwait for a job so I'm not in the condition to help you more.
But anyway follow my suggestions and you will make a big step foreward.

I knew a person that contact me directly about Modbus TCP/IP application but this person was really unfair because he only want everything prepared and he did not want to use his brain in the right way.
So please be more effective on the problems and after that will be more interesting to help you.
