Yes that is a good candidate too if it works OK with 3.3V level. Will setup simulation and see what I can find out.
BC547A will certainly do the trick as well.

The 2803A should:
"The ULN2803A is comprised of eight high voltage, high current NPN Darlington transistor pairs. All units feature
a common emitter and open collector outputs. To maximize their effectiveness, these units contain suppression
diodes for inductive loads. The ULN2803A has a series base resistor to each Darlington pair, thus allowing
operation directly with TTL or CMOS operating at supply voltages of 5 V or 3.3 V. "

Having second thoughts about home/limit switch voltage. I have always had 24VDC on my switches but is there anything against using 3.3/5V on the limit/home switches? (would make life a bit easier )

They can be more susceptible to noise, and long wire runs will have more voltage drop issues. That said, I use 5v on a lot of limit switches without problem (10 meter wire runs).

Hi Todd,
that is why I used to run 24VDC, but my cables are within 5-6m so 5VDC should be OK.
I will try to run with 5VDC and see if I get in trouble.
Cheers
