Yes, according to the manual, the Vextas like to start high and step low, but they seem very happy anyway.
They just needed a few volts, that's all. I am pleasantly pleased that that rounded edge from hell isn't bothering them. It got a little better proportionally with more voltage, but the pulse isn't too pretty.
For 20+ year old junk, Vextas motors and drivers are pretty nice.
