I now have a Debian .deb file for easy installation with no more terminal needed to launch as it's added to the menu now. As far as I can tell it supports all 4 types of spindles correctly now. I gotta say it was a long haul trying to figure out the Debian .deb puzzle and it had me stumped for a long time.

I do believe I've corrected all the issues with the 7i96 Configuration Tool and in addition added the ability to flash the following

5 StepGens , 7i96d.bit
4 StepGens 1 PWM, 7i96d_1pwm.bit
7i96 + 5abob, 7i96_5abob.bit
7i96 + 6 Encoders, 7i96_6enc_d.bit
7i96 + 7i76, 7i96_7i76d.bit
7i96 + 7i77, 7i96_7i77d.bit
7i96 + 7i78, 7i96_7i78d.bit
7i96 + 7i85, 7i96_7i85d.bit
7i96 + 7i85S, 7i96_7i85sd.bit
7i96 + 7i89, 7i96_7i89d.bit'
7i96 + G540, '7i96_g540dpl.bit

Edit: this has been tested on Debian 10 so if anyone else can test on other recent OS's that would be nice.

I just finished adding two menu items Save Pins and Save Signals. These will get the pin and signal names and save them to a text file in your configuration directory. No more twiddling around in a terminal to get a list of all the pins and signals.

I'll push the .deb in the morning during free time... on metered time now.

One of the many tools included with the 7i96 Configuration tool is the NIC speed test with which you can easily figure out if your CPU and NIC are fast enough for a Mesa Ethernet Card.

On the Pins tab you can get the actual pin names, also note you can send the pin names and signal names to a text file from the File menu.
