I've started adding support for Smart Serial cards. It will now add simple connections to LinuxCNC pins or create a net line with signal and smart serial pin only so you can copy and paste a special pin.

I'm working on the 7i73 pendant card now the rest except for the 7i87 are working. The pendant card is a bit tricky as you change the jumpers around the I/O changes and they are not all the same. So right now the tool will tell you the correct jumper positions for the selections made and tell you what pins are now I/O pins.

Well the Smart Serial section now properly loads from the ini file so now it'd done... I think.

I've been working on a much better way to select input connections and tossed out the combobox in favor of a pushbutton with a menu attached to it. Now you can drill down a list by category and select what you want. It was quite interesting to figure it all out without using a billion lines of code. The code to build the inputs hal file is now just a few lines long so much easier to trouble shoot.

Hi John,
Many thanks for this - it looks like it could help me. New to LinuxCNC but have run Debian systems for years.
I tried to install the latest version (1.3.0) from Github but encountered some issues so I created an issue report:
"Lintian check failed with the following issues:
E: 7i96: description-starts-with-package-name
W: 7i96: desktop-entry-lacks-main-category usr/share/applications/7i96 Configurator.desktop
Lintian finished with exit status 1
Installing in terminal with dpkg installs OK but application in the CNC folder is named "Something". When opened shows title as version 1.2.6"

My configuration tools are not in the Debian repo, you must follow the instructions in the install page and use Gdebi to install from the deb file.
