Quick question, sorry if it's a bit lame, I just ordered a 5A-75E to use for DRO duties (I may add CNC functionality in the future) on my mill, I already have LinuxCNC running nearby (for my hobby CNC), so can I just flash the 5A-75E and connect the three glass scales (I haven't bought scales yet) to it (do I need any level shifters?) and run MDRO?  Thanks!

There are Level shifters already in the board.
But all are configured as outputs.
You can change some, or all with bi-directional drivers, or modify the one's on the board you would like to use as inputs.
But take care about the input voltage for the fpga, 3,3V

Hi Rich,

If you keep to the main branch you should be ok. The other branch we're having issues with.

I can do the Hardware mods for you, I have some flex boards that are required and some boards that can be used as level shifters (these are the ones I made for my BeagleBone Black).

If you want I can flash the board as well, I have the dev environment setup and the required USB blaster.

Hi. I ordered a 5A-75B board but I got version 6.0 from the Chinese: / And unfortunately there are a few differences from version 6.1, among others there are no U16 and U21 buffers. Anyone had this version and managed to run it?

Doesn't even seem to be any direct support in Litex itself.

Best option is going to be having a look here github.com/q3k/chubby75 and looking through the issues and if nothing is there raise a new issue. As boards supported by Litex isn't a Linuxcnc issue as Litex is a completely different project.

In saying all that it could be similar to V8.0.

My boards arrived and they're all v8.2, has anyone got an v8.2 working?

Thanks!

Like I advised you before, the best place to raise this issue will be at:
github.com/q3k/chubby75/tree/master
github.com/enjoy-digital/litex

Chubby75 is the project that has been reverse engineering the boards.
And Litex is the project that has the build infrastructure.

Hello, why does it crash when I open Linuxcnc after adding the stepgen module to my json configuration file?

My IPL board is 5A-75E8.0, and the firmware generated with version 6.0 will be fine if you don’t add stepgen to the configuration file to generate the firmware
