No it has ST 25p16vp chips.
however as soon as I can I try to heat it up a little and try again, but I'm sure that once started it works regularly.

5V Power was a small caged power supply connected to TB2. Would it be better to connect to the dedicated P3 connector?

Thanks Peter, what is a bad ping limit do you think?Typically if you get the "Error finishing read" message you have
either lost contact with the 7I96 (power issues or the like)
or too many packets have timed out.

Its not the flash memory that has the problem, but rather the Ethernet EEPROM (93C46)No it has ST 25p16vp chips.

Its not likely a power issue unless running on a somewhat sketchy supply like
a USB cable.
I would want tun run the servo thread at about 2X the largest servo thread tmax
(converted to ns)

That is the correct chip, its just that MicroChip parts are unreliable
at low temperatures. ST M93C46WNM6TP chips have been 100% reliable
at -40 to +85C

Available I found this ST m93c46-rmn3tp/k
in the automotive class -40 + 125C
otherwise the one you said in May. it is not urgent now I have put the 5i23.

Not relevant, but I chilled a car down to -40C overnight this week, and it started with no obvious chip failures.

Is this bad?

So we got this. I'm not sure what CPU clocks is on an i5Typically if you get the "Error finishing read" message you have
either lost contact with the 7I96 (power issues or the like)
or too many packets have timed out.
To check for timed out packets, look at the tmax values:
halcmd show param *.tmax
These are in units of CPU clocks
Is this bad?
