Pcmcia parallel card was created by billykid
hi, I wanted to try one card 7I43 - 400. pcmcia to parallel port.
these are the data ...
10:00.0 Parallel controller: Oxford Semiconductor Ltd OX9162 Mode 0 (parallel port) (prog-if 03)
Subsystem: Oxford Semiconductor Ltd Device 0000
Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 22
I/O ports at 5020
I/O ports at 5028
I/O ports at 5000
Memory at a8000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K]
Capabilities: <access denied>
Kernel driver in use: parport_pc
Kernel modules: parport_pc
At first look it looks like a standard parallel port ..
but it can also make sure epp.
does anyone know if you can configure it?
7i43 course with onboard epp in another pc works perfectly
regards
Mauro

No guarantees but I think it will "just work".
The earlier OX12PCI840 PCI parallel port chip from Oxford (now PLX Tech)
works, so its likely the OX9162 will.
(its a PCI chip also, you have a Cardbus=PCI adapter)

I read the top post mode0 parallel port.
I think it should be set to epp in another way.
but the address must be entered or automatically recognizes the 7i43?
thanks
Mauro

I think the latest versions of EMC allow you to specify LPT ports by logical # (0,1, 2 etc) )rather than address.

Ick, looks like the port was never set into EPP mode (the 0xFEFEFEFE is probably the parallel data lines indicating DONE is low read in normal. non EPP mode)
I wonder if any code that sets the port into EPP mode requires the standard 0x400 offset between the normal and extended LPT control registers (instead of the 0x08 offset here)

In fact I put this line to specify address. but it seems to work only in standard mode.
I do not think can use these address.
if someone who understands English better than I can learn
makes me a big favor.
Thanks for Everything
Mauro

Anyone solved the Problem? I also have a Delock Paralell PCMCIA Card with the same IO Adress.
I am not able to configure it to EMC2. Anyone can help me?

What part is not working? This thread was related to setting the card to EPP to use a 7i43 board.
If you are not using a 7i43 then you do not need EPP.
