Take a look for

motion.spindle-at-speed

Motion will pause until this pin is TRUE, under the following conditions: before the first feed move after each spindle start or speed change; before the start of every chain of spindle-synchronized moves; and if in CSS mode, at every rapid->feed transition.

Yesterday, I ran my first real program, succesfully and completed 40 parts, I'm using AXIS and like it a lot.

The only major thing left unfinished is the tool changer.

If anyone is interested in doing a paid project to do the tool changer coding, contact me at:

It is a twin arm.

I would sure be happy to see any examples.

While not a twin arm tool changer here is my CHNC.

gnipsel.com/shop/hardinge/hardinge.xhtml

Just download the config files to see the ladder.

Does your spindle need to orientate to a special place to change the tool?

Thanks for the help.

Yes the spindle does need to orient.

I will start trying to understand them tonight.

I think I will set up my home computer to do the classic ladder work so that I don't get distracted with all the work I need to do in the shop. Do you know if it is possible to do classic ladder work using the live cd or do I need to make my machine dual boot and do a full install?

At least you can glean the handshaking with tool change request and tool change finished from my example.

I don't know if it is possible to save anything from the LiveCD but you could do a virtual box and install the LiveCD there or do the dual boot.

Does your spindle use an encoder with index to orientate or does it have some kind of solid stop?
