Starting a new thread in the Pncconf section would get the attention of the author of pncconf.

have you the correct folder for the ini and hal files etc , in the older version it is EMC2 the newer version is LINUXCNC
along with the approprate changes to the paths etc in the ini

which mesa card are you using ?
and which bit file ? also check that the bit file exists

since upgrading emc to the new version the firmware that pncconf picks up for the card is different from what is was from the previous version and i cannot do any open loop servo tests in pnc and therefor carnt finish the config or even look at whats wrong

question is where is the firmware stored on the card or is it passed to the card during cnc startup ?

also the files from the old build that have the axis calibration window issuei have found a thred regarding spaces in the pid lines for the hal file but i see nothing wrong when ever i edit it i get start up errors

It is passed to the card during startup from the lib/firmware/hm2/5i20 folder.

If you have installed from scratch it is possible that you no longer have that folder.

sudo apt-get install hostmot2-firmware-all
might be required to get the latest set.

the firmware is uploaded on startup , it should be located at \libfirmware\hm2\5i20
and select an approprate bit file SV ( SERVO ) xx if this is a servo machine
svst8_4.bit is current so it should be available
