Even when you turn the encoder? If it was showing 0V and -24V relative to +24V then it really has no choice but to show 24V and 0V relative to the 0V line.

I put pull up resistors on all encoder inputs and inverted them in hal . Now atc works fine

What is happening without resistors:
If I put red multimeter wire on encoder +24v and black wire on encoder outputs it shows 0v when not active and -24v when active
If I put black wire on encoder gnd and red wire on outputs it shows 0v when active and not active.

OK, that sounds like the encoder has "open collector" outputs then. Googling that might help with interfacing them. (though you sound to be there)

One advantage of open collectors is that you can change the working voltage, so could pull-up to 5V if you preferred.

Hi Ihavenofish!
actually I have Brother TC-215 with original Toshiba servo drives...and I manage to retrofit it ONLY with pin-to-pin replacement NC-Board with Mesa 7i92 and 7i77. It's work incredibly precice (I think due internal resolver) (precise is about 0.002mm)

first chips

So if your drives and motors initially work fine, I hope You can do the same :) and save cost and time.

Ready to share all info with all comunity.

Interested please help!

Brother like this entire thread has been about?

:P

There are a few candidates. Working out which one makes the most "sense" and "cents". I don't want a long project this time. I want a machine that I can get into production quickly. Thanks to a lot of you guys here, converting certain brother machines is now a "few days" proposition, not months or years.

The alt is to pay a lot more for something newer, but... money.
