Hey it‘s me again...
I‘m a lot further now, will hopefully soon be able to work with the machine.

Somehow I managed to kill my 5V power supply, I couldnt find my mistake.

I switched the power supply and now I cant connect to my 7i97 anymore.
The CR11 and CR12 LED are both red now.

Have I killed the 7i97? Couldnt find any info about it besides that they should be off..

CR11 and 12 should go on briefly when power is applied and then go out
If they stay on it indicates either a power issue or that the EEPROM data
has been corrupted.

Okay seems like the power supply was too weak, got a 2,4A raspberry pi power supply now and I can connect again.

However now I can’t switch my outputs.
When I switch them in HAL they light up on the software site, but the LEDs on the 7i97 don’t turn on and the switches don’t switch.
The inputs seem to work fine..

Any ideas on that?

assuming the outputs worked previously,
If you had a problem with 5V power (too high?)
it may have damaged the chips the drive the outputs
(more than 6.5V on the 5V supply will cause damage)

Yeah I was thinking the same, is there any way to find out?
I disconnected every other plug and it's still not working..

I did a few changes to the whole system since I checked outputs last time, but if no connection is shorted and HAL shows the output as switched but nothing happens, it has to be a broken driver right?

If I know it's broken I'd just get a 7i84 for the outputs..

Okay, the analog outs give out constant 0.5V when they should have 0V..,
I guess I damaged the 7i97, will get a new one in a few days

Okay I'm now pretty much done, got everything working and already milled some projects.

I still have that broken 7i97 laying around, it probably got too high voltage.
Is there anyone who fixes those cards or can do anything else with them or should I just throw it away?

The 10 analog output +-10v or the 6 isolated outputs are toast. Do the inputs work?
