I need linuxcnc on 12.04lts ? was created by RobotMatic
My moher doesn't work with 10.4 lts The error from CD live is
(initramfs) unable to find a medium containing a live file system
The versions 12.04 LTS and 13.04 work properly.
How can I solve the problem if Linux CNC only works with 10.04 LTS?
My mother is Asus P8 H61-M LX with processor Intel G630 2,7 GHz, 3 MB Cache.
I look forward to your helpful answer.
Thanks in advance.

Hi
First of all check that SATA is in AHCI mode in BIOS
The error you are getting is nothing to do with Linuxcnc, it is the LiveCD isolinux booter not being able to find your drives.
If it still does not work you are left with this
wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?XenomaiKernelPackages
which does work with 12.04
regards

Have you tried burning a second CD? Have you checked the MD5SUM of the CD?

I think it is possible to run LinuxCNC on 12.04, but it is a fair bit of work at the moment. How good are you at Linux and compiling custom kernels?
(Yes, I know it shouldn't be this hard, it is due to a situation outside the control of the LinuxCNC project).
We are very close to having a system that will run on _any_ current Linux distribution, but not quite there.
There are ways, but you need to be better at Linux than me to use them (not that hard)

I am not sure what you mean. That process should give you a perfectly functional LinuxCNC installation.

Edugonza,
while I dont exactly understand what your plans are I am fairly sure that there is no point in trying alternative installation methods, which are more complex, if you cant get a liveCD to work
switch to a different PC and try again - the liveCD works fine, I am rather sure this is a problem with your setup
