I've never played a lawyer on TV so I feel the same way as Cradek, you will have to read the GPL2 and the GPL2 FAQ and make your own conclusion.

So Yall don't have a clue either ?? It seems that the LinuxCNC group has sold the membership of LinuxCNC down the river by allowing this to happen without contest allowing the program to exist for commercial Gain totally against the GPL.

I read that they cannot do what they did. How say yall ?

What specific part of the GPL do you feel is being violated?
reading through:

www.gnu.org/licenses/old-licenses/gpl-2....html#CanIDemandACopy

I don't see anything that requires Tormach to release binaries to anyone who asks.
If you have the binaries, I think it you can request the source but IANAL etc etc.

The issue has been resolved B) .

Under the GPL license there are ONLY certain circumstances that prevent someone from asking for and receiving a Complete Copy of the Complete Package. Read it VERY carefully .

from the FAQ:

If I know someone has a copy of a GPL-covered program, can I demand he give me a copy?
No. The GPL gives him permission to make and redistribute copies of the program if and when he chooses to do so. He also has the right not to redistribute the program, when that is what he chooses.

This seems pretty clear to me

Not even close to being on subject. Just because SOMEONE has a copy of something THEY(someone) are under NO obligation to give you a copy. That does NOT cover the program originator that created the Program from a GPL licensed piece of CODE.THEY (program originator ) ARE required to give up a FULL copy of the Program WITH certain restrictions as covered by the GPL. Most GPL adapted programs do NOT meet the RESTRICTIONS that allows them to deny distribution.
