Please post your files, we cannot guess what is currently in them.
If you want to do it yourself, create a test config with homing switches in it and look at that, or put your config back through stepconf and add the home switches.

I have not setup my hal or ini files. I am working on a Sherline lathe with two mechanical switches and I am working in the imperial scale.
I have found example files from other posts which should this going. I appreciate all the help I can get.

There is already a sample config in the install.
This is it in the github repo
github.com/LinuxCNC/linuxcnc/tree/master...erline/SherlineLathe
It has an imperial version at Sherlinelathe_inch.ini
Should be installed at
/usr/share/doc/linuxcnc/examples/sample-configs/by_machine/Sherline/SherlineLathe
on your system already
Need to read the .hal file because some of it is commented out in standard_pinout.hal and you need to uncomment what applies
regards

I did go and check out that link and it was very helpful. The linuxcnc will now work again. It does not show home all but just home each axis. I took out the sequence command. Any help would be appreciated.

Home sequence must be defined for all axes before the Home All button shows up.

Usually on a lathe you set the home sequence for the X axis to 0 and the Z to 1 so the X axis homes first.

I am wondering if my breakout board is working. I did away with the usb cable and hooked up a 5v power supply. The home all button is back but I am not sure if I have the connections setup in hal or the ini. breakout board has pin 12, 13, 15 as x y and z..
