The issue has crept back up as I go through commissioning my machine. I turned on backlash comp and I occasionally get following errors while mpg jogging again. I had to raise the following error or I could not home the machine , it would give a following error during the homing sequence.

This is not unexpected as you need to double the stepgens maxaccel value
if backlash compensation is used ( this applies to all step/dir linuxcnc systems )
if backlash compensation is used ( this applies to all step/dir linuxcnc systems )

Ok will try this, they were 25% higher as per the note in the generated ini file. I will up them to double.

I meant double their current value (so 250% of machine accel value)

So that I am clear, if my machine is set to 10 units of accel normally the max accel should be 25 units?

Yes, 25, because the trajectory planner uses double the machines per axis acceleration limits when
performing backlash compensation so 2 x1.25 = 250%
performing backlash compensation so 2 x1.25 = 250%
