One of the more normal sets, free shipping.
Beware of shipping for these chinese parts, you a low sale price shown and below in small lettering is the shipping fees that are usually more than the parts.
Or find a used longer linear rail with 2 blocks that you can cut in half and use one block per rail, since you have no cut forces to load them.
I would choose the second option.

While that is a good example its way out of my budget, however it did lead me to find some other things.
The least expensive linear rail was able to find came out to a build cost of $186 for the X axis. The downside is they only ship in 600mm segments, but I can weld and grind flush. goo.gl/AL2ER9

Welding is not an option, it will destroy the bearings in no time.
Go with your design, just add some more lateral support to bearing holders.
