PID SERVO TUNING was created by Yannis
Hi
i try to tune my servo with mesa 5i25 an7i77 and mesa wizard
i try first to set the P
when i set anything bigger then 0.25 the motor oscillate like crazy(all the others values is 0)
i check almost every pid setting thread in the forum and never find so low values for the P
what is your suggestion?

If the machine control scaling is not normalized, the P settings will depend on scaling
and metric machines with have a 25 times lower P values than inch machine so 0.25 is
possible but does seem low. Also P may be low if you don't have the encoder scaling right.

Are you drives running in velocity mode? If so, have the drives velocity loops been tuned?

If the drives are running in torque mode, the tuning procedure is quite different
(P by it self will almost always oscillate)

Hi
i have a BRU500 and BRU200ANALOG SERVO DRIVERS in a INTERMAC 1500 GLASS MACHINE
the machine is gantry machine with 2 motors on y and c axis
the c axis motor is mountaid to planetary gear box and i tune it (i think) and i was abble to reach 17m/min
P 1.36 FF1 0.00385
the other motors are different
if i try P values> 0.5 they oscilate like crazy
the previus controller was OSAI10
is it possible the c axis motor to be in velocity mode and the others(x,y,y,z) to be on torque mode?

Could you post your config files (ini & hal)? It is possible that configuration errors could be contributing to your instability.

It is possible, but I would be surprised if they were.

The error message indicates that the 5I25 does not have communication with the 7I77

Most likely causes are power (5V power in this case) and cabling

I think those are the wrong configuration files. They are for a parallel port step-motor configuration generated by Stepconfig, not a servo configuration by PNCconfig.

sorry i will post the right one tomorrow morning local time
the behavior of the motor is very strange it oscillate with P value near to zero
i hope that to be the result of default values of the PNCconfig
