Vismach Simple Example was created by BigJohnT
Does anyone have a vismach example of a 3 axis mill or a 2 axis lathe made from primitives that I can study and fix the documents? I tried to make one from the very limited info in the documents but got a tk error in the end which didn't make any sense to me.
Thanks

Which part of the documents is in need of fixing?
I wrote linuxcnc.org/docs/2.7/html/gui/vismach.html
I tried to make it as simple as I could. In which direction did I err?

Fix is perhaps the wrong word, amend is more what I meant. For example the Basic structure of a Vismach script section needs to be a simple example that can be cut and pasted as a starting point for a newbee. Also missing is how you start vismach from your GUI but did finally figure that out. If you can provide me a simple working example with primitives so it can be included in the manual I'll be happy to add to that section. I'm thinking just a base, saddle, table so the saddle (Y) and the table (X) moves I could expand on that. I've tried several times but get weird tk errors that make no sense to me.
I read through the wiki page on vismach but didn't get far with that either. wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Vismach
Thanks

Does the Wiki page help at all?
github.com/LinuxCNC/linuxcnc/blob/master...ismach/maho600gui.py
Seems to be primitives-only

The Wiki is a little help, I didn't see the maho600gui.py so I'll give that a try in the morning.
Thanks

So far I can get something to show up but no movement of the axis even though they are connected in hal. This is my files and I'm trying the c5 one at the moment which is a copy of one of Chris Radic's files and when I jog the X axis I can see something about 1 pixel wide moving on the back side of the Z axis going up and down when looking at it from the front right corner.

Hello,
sorry I'm not seen this post.
I also want to study Vismach with the example 'sim.axis.vismach.5axis' but I do not know where to find the files.
I want an XZABC machine if possible to check if the gcode is correct with GMax_Toolkit.
I currently have an XZC machine and if the code is correct I add the other axes

Hello,
I've started editing the files. Did you manage to import a *.STL file?

You need to ensure that the STL is exported as ASCII not binary, otherwise it won't work.
