That's typically an acceleration limit miss-match.
Servo or stepper machine?

Probably not accel limits then. That's typically a problem for steppers.
Does your PID have any D term? I think that there has been a change to the command-deriv pin handling in 2.8 (it now works properly)

Is this what you mean?
setp pid.x.Dgain [JOINT_0]D
but I find no other reference to it.

What is the value of D in the INI file [JOINT_0] section?

Yes that is where your PID D-term is set in the hal file. That line is referencing a veritable specified in your ini file. Look in the ini file for what the D value is actually set to and to make adjustments.

P = 30
I = 0
D = 0
That's what I find in the .ini
Not sure what adjustment to make?

If D = 0 then it seems very unlikely that the error you see is due to the changes in the command-deriv pin handling.

Ok, I lowered the feedrate to 50 and that ended the issue. I really don' t have any reason to travel faster then that for my hobby needs.
Thanks for you help

I am jumping in here because I also cannot get 2.8. I had tried to update the repository and do not have a clear understanding of the exact editing of the buildbot line.
I have tried various things but am unscuccessful.
Thanks.
