Also for the 7i76E you need the Stretch version of linuxcnc.
Your network should be set using the network manager, there are also provisions for setting the gateway and DNS there, without them network will not work properly.
Network setting should be like so:
IP 10.10.10.2 up to 254 ( excluding 10, and never 1 )
Netmask 255.255.255.0 or /24
gateway 10.10.10.1
Dns 10.10.10.1 ( works without this line )

@tommylights I will try with stretch also
@PCW Are you suggesting to move w9 jumper down to enable to load the backup and retry?
Which is the best way to turn off it and rollback the change if will work?

Yes, move the jumper down and then power cycle
If the red light does not go out there may be something broken with the card or you still have power supply issues

I have tried with jumper w9 down but nothing is changed, exattly the same scenario, the leds on the Eth port are NOT lighting.
I have tried using another Linux distribution also (Ubuntu LTS and Stretch), with no luck.
I see always CR1 and CR2 lights so probably the last thing that I must to test is to use another 5V supply. I'm going to buy anotherone and retry, I will let you know.
