No need to close a thread that solved a problem...

So if you haven't noticed, I'm kind of new and I have a ton of questions. I also get wordy. So let me get this straight. When it comes to the forum, if a question comes up and there is an answer, you leave it open? If so, why? And if not, why would you close it as I was advised?
Thanks in advance,
Scot

Noob here too, but I think the intention is to edit the thread title to include the word "solved", so that anyone else searching for the same issue can easily see there is a resolution to their struggles!

Users can not close a thread, but they can mark it as solved, so other users can know it was solved when searching for it.
