Hi I have HP MS6200 i5 3.1GHZ 8 gig ram computer that is freezing while running a programs. It continues to cut the part while the screen is frozen. after it is done, have to reboot to get it back.
I just posted this and accidentally deleted the message... sorry.
I originally had a dell optiplex but removed it because it the watchdog was biting on latency issues. So I changed for HP.
any ideas? I think maybe video card
/EDIT: Linuxcnc v2.9 Hardware: Mesa 7i92M - 7i76

Here i go again on my own ..... Whitesnake!
Power supply
memory
video card
When it freezez, can the mouse pointer be still moved?
No > video card
Yes > power or memory
Not exclusively, but mostly
Open the PC lid, check if you can see bulging on the top of capacitors, that is the power supply failing and the whole PC has to be changed.

I thought it was going to be the video card, but it works no problem doing pc stuff and never had it do it while testing and setting up.
IT is onboard video. Guess I will try a pci video card. but which one....lol

Back in the old days that was the best card to use with LinuxCNC. That is very old now and uses the AGP slot.

See if that helps.
